Laburpena / Resumen:
Gianfranco D. Alpini (PhD) is a distinguished Professor of Medical Physiology at Texas A&M University (USA). In his research program, he investigates the regulation of cholangiocyte proliferation/damage during cholangiopathies. He has laid the groundwork for the identification of numerous signaling pathways that participate in the autocrine/paracrine regulation of bile duct/liver cells proliferation and differentiation during hepatobiliary injuries.

2. HITZALDIA / CHARLA 2

Izenburua / Título: “Mast cells and the HDC/histamine axis regulate biliary damage & fibrosis during PSC and cholangiocarcinoma”

Hizlaria / Ponente: Heather L. Francis (PhD) – Texas A&M University (USA).
Data / Fecha: 2018ko apirilak 9 / 9 de abril de 2018.
Ordua / Hora: 13:15 – 14:00.

Laburpena / Resumen:
Heather L. Francis (PhD) is an accomplished Associate Professor of Medical Physiology at Texas A&M University (USA), with more than 120 publications. The main goal of her research program is to understand and identify target therapies for chronic and often fatal liver diseases. In the past several years, her team focused on a better understanding of the paracrine role that mast cells play in chronic liver diseases.
