Jesús Fernández Crespo, Director General of the Instituto de Salud Carlos III (Carlos III Health Institute) (ISCIII) visited Biodonostia last 16 March to take a first-hand look at the work its professionals carry out.
The day continued with a main event where Dr Julio Arrizabalaga, Scientific Director of IIS Biodonostia, introduced the Institute’s activity and its history. Next, Dr Fernández Crespo gave a speech entitled “Health Research Institutes’ Programme,” speaking of the Strategic Action in Health carried out by the Institutes.
Moreover, the Institute’s facilities were visited, and several meetings were held with Managers from Biodonostia’s Research Departments.
The Carlos III Health Institute is the main Public Research Body that finances, manages and executes biomedical research in the state. Biodonostia recently managed to renew its ISCIII accreditation for the next five years.
