The Innovation Conference will be held on 21st November in the San Sebastian University Hospital (HUD) auditorium.
The aim of the conference is to report on progress in the field of innovation at HUD-IIS Biodonostia and for it to inspire solutions to health problems.
This conference is organised by management at the HUD and IIS Biodonostia and it is intended for all HUD-IIS Biodonostia staff, Gipuzkoa health personnel, researchers from Research / Technological centres and companies in the health field.
The conference will welcome Mr José Manuel Ladrón de Guevara and Mr Julio Arrizabalaga and it will present 4 Innovation Projects from the Programme Contract call.
Dr Lluís Blanch will speak about seeking out Innovation opportunities in Hospitals. We will highlight his work on Structuring Research Units in hospitals.
Alternately, Mr Enric Segarra will give a paper entitled “Where do ideas come from? Innovation sources used by successful organisations.”
The aim of this conference is to drive participation, particularly from workers focused on their daily tasks, in seeking out opportunities for innovation that can provide user-based solutions.

11:05 – 11:35 Paper. Dr. Lluís Blanch (Critical Care Physician, Director of Research and Innovation for the Parc Taulí Corporation and Co-Coordinator of the ITEMAS Platform).

- Ms Esther Munguía, Nursing (Mental Health). Design of a psycho-educational and skills game for children and teenagers with SMI: “Olímpica-mente”. To be used with children over ten years old who require basic cognitive needs to use it properly.
- Dr. Marta Iriarte, MICU service. Multi-disciplinary care for patients with severe pulmonary thromboembolism in the Gipuzkoa area.
- Ms Ainhoa Asensio, Pharmacy Service. Implantation of a treatment conciliation programme on release from hospital for poly-medicated chronic patients.
- Ms Ana María Belástegui, Nursing. Improvement in the quality of information received by the different agents involved in the transfer process within the actual hospital (including patients and family members).
