SUMMARY:Exposure to phenols and poly-fluoroalkyl substances (PFAS) and endometriosis. Pilot case-control study. / Experiencia como moduladora de edad cerebral y reserva cognitiva en el envejecimiento
DESCRIPTION:This project explores the potential relationship between endocrine-disrupting chemicals (EDCs) and endometriosis using menstrual blood as a novel\, non-invasive biological matrix. The study focuses on compounds such as bisphenol A (BPA) and per- and polyfluoroalkyl substances (PFAS)\, which have been suggested to interfere with hormonal regulation and may contribute to the development of endometriosis. \nA case–control study was conducted in the Basque Country including 45 women of reproductive age\, 15 diagnosed with endometriosis and 30 controls. Menstrual blood samples were analyzed to quantify several PFAS and phenols. Contrary to previous findings in the literature\, higher levels of several PFAS were observed in controls than in women with endometriosis. In particular\, PFOS and PFDeA showed significant inverse associations with the disease. \nThese results suggest that menstrual blood may reflect different exposure dynamics than traditional biological samples and highlight the need for larger longitudinal studies to better understand the role of environmental contaminants in endometriosis. \n  \n\nHablaremos de edad cerebral\, de reserva cognitiva y presentaré un modelo que trata de relacionar las experiencias vitales\, incluido el multilingüismo\, con la reserva cerebral y la reserva cognitiva. SUMMARY:La UAI de Biogipuzkoa: actividad y hoja de ruta en valorización y transferencia.
DESCRIPTION:La Unidad de Apoyo a la Innovación (UAI) de IIS Biogipuzkoa presenta en este seminario una visión integral de su actividad y sus próximos pasos estratégicos. En la primera parte\, se ofrecerá un balance de los últimos tres años: evolución de la cartera tecnológica\, colaboraciones con empresas\, acuerdos alcanzados y principales indicadores de transferencia. A continuación\, se compartirán los resultados de una encuesta interna realizada al colectivo investigador para identificar necesidades formativas y barreras percibidas en los procesos de valorización. En base a estos resultados\, se presentará el nuevo Plan Formativo de la UAI\, diseñado para fortalecer las capacidades del personal investigador y de gestión en protección de resultados\, comercialización y emprendimiento. Finalmente\, se ofrecerá una primera aproximación al Plan de Valorización y Transferencia del instituto\, actualmente en fase de cierre\, y a las líneas de implementación previstas.
